These wheels are made of C40 steel and coated with Cubic Boron Nitrate (CBN), a substance second only to diamond in terms of hardness. CBN allows for a completely dry operation, which makes it FoodSafe and removes any concerns over bacteria. The airborne vacuum also reduces any airborne contamination.

Knifex professional sharpening systems use opposing worm wheels that penetrate into one another to form a constant angle. There is an optional cylindrical scissors wheel available which turns the K10 into the KS10 and the K100 into the KS100. If you want a dedicated scissor sharpener the S5 is designed to simply and effectively solve the problem of sharpening scissors. All our wheels allow a perfect factory edge to be put on a blade in just one sharpening pass. Our machines do a fantastic job on both top-quality forged knives and stamped knives. A big advantage of our systems is that they require virtually no daily maintenance. The wheels are easy to replace and this only needs to be done after thousands of knives have been sharpened, which results in a very low cost per sharpening.
